The lifespan of blue tits in the wild averages about 2 to 3 years. However, there are documented cases where blue tits have reached an age of over 10 years. The high mortality rate among young birds and the numerous dangers in their habitat, such as predators and diseases, significantly influence their average life expectancy.

Blue tits reach a body length of about 11 to 12 centimeters and weigh between 9 and 14 grams.
