Wissenswertes über Pinguine:

Cool Facts

  • Penguins are flightless birds, but exceptional swimmers. With their wings, they glide elegantly through the water and are faster than many other seabirds.
  • To protect themselves from the cold, penguins have a thick layer of fat under their skin and special, waterproof feathers that keep them warm and dry. When diving, they also show impressive abilities – some species reach depths of up to 500 meters to hunt fish and other marine life.
  • As parents, penguins are extremely caring. Both partners participate in brooding and protect their chicks by keeping them warm under their bellies.
  • Penguins communicate in unique ways. They use different sounds and movements to communicate, and even adapt their voices to make themselves understood in various environments.
